Gears of War Judgement Review and Gameplay

Gears of War: Judgment is a third-person shooter that Epic Games and People Can Fly developed as the fourth entry to the Gears of War series, a follow-up that Microsoft Studios published for the Xbox 360

Gears of War : Judgement is back to business as usual it start with Kilo Squad is put on trial for various crimes by Colonel Ezra Loomis and is given the chance to explain their actions.Following orders, Kilo checks out a convoy in the Old Town part of Halvo Bay only to find it destroyed. Kilo proceeds to battle through Old Town and into the Museum of Military Glory where they encounter the fearsome Locust General Karn and his mount Shibboleth accompanied by hundreds of Locust. Contacting Colonel Loomis, Cadet Sofia Hendrick suggests using a powerful weapon known as the Lightmass Missile to take Karn out, but Loomis is against the idea. Realizing how dangerous Karn is, Kilo decides to do it anyways and travels to the Onyx Guard Academy where they find and protect the missile's targeting beacon, a bot that Lieutenant Damon Baird later names Troy. With Troy in their possession, Kilo travels to the Seashore Hills to the mansion of Professor Elliot, creator of the missile in order to get the launch codes needed to fire the missile. Fighting into the mansion, Kilo must defend Troy from repeated waves of Locust as he downloads the launch codes. Once they have the codes, Kilo travels to the island of Onyx Point where the missile itself is, fighting through entrenched Locust forces to reach and arm the missile. Despite orders to the contrary, they arm the missile and head back to the museum where they figure Karn is heading to lay a trap. Fighting across the rooftops of Old Town, Kilo sends Troy in to guide the missile and despite Loomis threatening to execute them if they go through with their plan, Baird fires the Lightmass Missile at the museum, blowing it up and killing hundreds of Locust, Karn presumably among them. Kilo then defends themselves from a massive Locust attack on their rooftop and once its over, they are arrested by Loomis for their actions. the story plays out as flashbacks as Lt.Damon Baird tells the story of Gears of War Judgement.

The gameplay uses star system structure with earning a max of 3 stars for an perfect round and activating a Declassify option multiplies the rate at which you earn stars. Leaderboards and arcade scoring are one thing, but this is another of Judgment’s clever ploys to tinker with the way we play Gears. Knowing what scores big points can drive you in a specific direction – if you want to score big, maybe risking an explosive Torque Bow’s limited ammo instead of the Markza sniper rifle’s full clip is worth your while. Judgment’s evaluation of skill is rewarding in its own right, especially when you know you’ve conquered a tough Declassify mission. That it unlocks additional content, like the Aftermath campaign. with the new system judgement does feel fresh and works better with the faster pace but somehow it feels like i have been here, done that, got the t-shirt sort of thing. but ofcourse it still play to high standard and looks good with the bulletstorm developer doing a great job.

Gears of War Judgement Overrun First Impressions

Hi Gear-heads

Here's my first impressions of the Gears of War Judgement overrun, Today 19/03/13 sees the release of the early access of the Gears of War online multiplayer beta/demo which is now available on Xbox Live for Gold memberships. My first impressions of overrun is it's like an mix of horde/beast modes from Gears of War 3 but its not in an wave structure like horde or beast modes of GOW3 its a constant onslaught, The Gears of War Judgement Overrun multiplayer demo gives you access to the game’s class- and team-based competitive mode, which sees the Locust and COG fighting over objectives to either defend or destroy targets. What’s great about this demo is that any experience points you earn while playing the taster will be transferred over to the full game if you decided to invest in this game this week.

I think the overrun mode is brilliant, fresh and a welcome change in my eyes, it's just what the gears series needed, cant wait for the games release on 22nd march but this online beta/demo will definitely make it easier wait till Friday

Metal Gear Rising Revengence

Metal Gear Rising- Revengence is an action video game developed by Platinum Games and produced by Kojima Productions

Wow Metal Gear Rising- Revengeance was one of my most anticiated games of this year, but now it's finally here all I can say is how disappointed I am. I was a massive fan of the MGS series I thought it was amazing playing MGS on the PS1 nothing out there was better then it but some how I believe it has lost its way because it looks like an MGS game and with the new fox engine it looks amazing but its just not MGS.The gameplay just didn't do it for me as I found myself dying lots of times and that for me is frustrating, hard and just not enjoyable to play. I've played (Platinum games) before i.e Bayonetta,Vanquish and ive really enjoyed them but this one its just not for me.

The gameplay focuses on fighting enemies using a sword and multiple sub weapons to perform combos and counterattacks. The game introduces the Blade Mode feature which allows the player to dismember cyborgs in slow motion and steal parts stored in their bodies. The series' stealth elements are also optional to reduce combat. The game was originally announced in 2009 under the title of Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and was intended to act as an interquel between the events of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This form of the game was to be produced solely by Kojima Productions. However, the team met with difficulties in developing a game based on swordplay, so the franchise director Hideo Kojima cancelled it and it should have stopped that way, gameplay for me was just to hard, bosses was unbeatable I would give them loads of hits and nothing would happen but one combo from them and I was dead. Even on the easy setting it was hard in the end I just give up.
I was really excited about this game and got even more so when the reviews from the big guns come out with Ign giving it 8.5, Gamespot 8.5 I thought we might be on too a winner and It wasn't for me, but if you love the devil may cry's and ninja gaiden games then I would give a try and see what you think but for me it's a epic fail and a massive disappointment .

Tomb Raider Review & Gameplay

Tomb Raider is an action-adventure platform video game.Published by Square Enix and developed   by Crystal Dynamics. Tomb Raider also includes character progression, skill upgrades,side-quests and craft system, platforming exploration and survival mechanics and a campaign that will last around 12 to 15 hours .

Left, Camilla Luddington shes the face and the
voice of the rebooted Lara Croft

Let me start straight away with that I think, this is one of the best story driven, well written, very well presented game I have played so far this year, not once did i want to put down my pad, not once did i feel I had lost my connection with any of the character.
I really enjoyed this games even though at one point I wasn't even going to play the game again as I was 36% into the game and I jump into somewhere I don't think I was meant to go and I couldn't get out or start at the last checkpoint as it kept starting me in the area I couldn't get out off, so basically I had to start again from the start, which of course I wasn't too happy about!
The game begins with Lara travelling on the ship called Endurance commanded by Conrad Roth, an old friend of the Croft family and former Royal Marine. Also there Reyes Roths lover, as well as several specialists are on board. Alex, a computer specialist, Johah a fisherman, Samantha, Laras old collage friend and also Dr.Whitman who is a celebrity archaeologist who is desperate to make a big find and escape bankruptcy.

The group are searching for the lost Japanese nation of the yamatai against Dr.Whitmans protests,
the ship follows Lara's advice anyway and enters the Dragon's Triangle, an area renowned for
causing ships to disappear. when the ship got struck by a violent storm and splits in two, Lara awakens on a beach but is knocked unconscious by an unknown assailant. This is when we start the nail biting edge of your seat roller coaster ride never in my life have I played a character that gets so beaten, banged up, impaled or shot at, the ordeal she has to go through would make anyone loose their mind but not Lara she battles on bruised and bleeding and still she kicks ass to escape the island.
As you can properly tell I fell in love with this game, at first I thought it was just going to be an uncharted clone but I was wrong, it might have used the uncharted template but with a story to match any AAA Hollywood movie with the action that is fast, brutal and combat that is tight.
Overall this game is a must buy .
